One of the world's leading performance sports brands in footwear and technical apparel is hiring a Apparel Business Manager to develop the seasonal Apparel collectoins for the Asia Pacific region.

A leading running brand for both amateurs and professional athletes, this brand has significant credibility and affection to sportspeople across the globe and continues to grow in all international markets in their core sports of cricket, running, netball and rugby.


Key Responsibilities

This is a 12 month maternity contract with a potential of permanency.

The Apparel Business Manager is in charge of the entire product development chain including market research, relationship building with key customers, presentation of seasonal collections & budget planning.

The Apparel team develops seasonal Apparel Collections for the Oceania Region (including: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines):
  • Develop a seasonal range concept and range plan in conjunction with internal department and customer insights and making sure critical time path is in line with the market requirements.
  • Analyse ranges with key stakeholders with the focus on sell troughs, forecasting & buying, costing, trend research and on time deliveries.
  • Range presentations to internal sales teams and external key customer.
  • Work with Apparel Team to make sure garment fits are in accordance with the Australian standard, workmanship is within the required guidelines and styling/designs are commercial and strong.
  • Work with key stakeholders on pricing curves and required GP’s.
  • Management of Accessories Range (including socks, bags, running accessories and head wear)
  • Management of Apparel Team

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:
  • Three to five years of working experience in the sport/fashion apparel industry in a product development management role.
  • Good knowledge of local apparel market (including key contact persons). Understanding of Apparel Product Development cycles is necessary.
  • A passion for Athleisure and sporting product.  
  • Experience in presentations and negotiations at all levels (internally and externally).  
  • Ability to deliver demanding targets.
  • Understanding of Global Brand structures and requirements.
  • Experience in systematic market penetration of an international company.
  • Solid understanding of all facets of product management tools, operational and strategic.
  • At least two years management experience.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline preferred.
 

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Office Works SYS (Excel, Word, Outlook, PP) required.
  • Experience working for a Global Company is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SAP and CAD is advantageous.
