Background
The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (“HKSI”) is the Government’s delivery agent of elite sports training systems. The HKSI’s mission is to provide an environment in which sports talent can be identified, nurtured and developed to pursue excellence in the international sporting arena benchmarked at Asian and Olympic Games results.
Key responsibilities

To drive innovation and state-of-the-art scientific, medical and technological support to coaches to systematically and positively impact athletes high performance results;

To coordinate and monitor the effective implementation of the HKSI’s Biopsychosocial elite training model in a manner that adds value to coaching methodologies and outcomes;

To lead and coordinate the provision of systematic, science-based methods of identifying and screening talented athletes to add value to NSA’s sustainable elite talent development programmes;

To lead and enhance the HKSI’s international scientific symposium and elite training seminar programmes;
-
To lead and coordinate the publication and dissemination of the HKSI’s applied research and technical publications;

To monitor and report to the Board and its relevant Committees, divisional performance outcomes in line with the HKSI’s strategic direction and key performance indicators.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
-
Holder of a PhD in a sports-science/medicine related field;
-
At least 10 years’ experience with proven managerial and leadership skills in the elite sports field within a multi-disciplinary sports science/medicine environment;

In depth knowledge of local and international best-practice models of elite sport science and technology support systems;

Strong network of contacts within China and international elite sport counterparts;
-
High level strategic thinking and planning skills;
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Desired:

Fluency in Cantonese, Putonghua and English
