Who/what inspired you to pursue a career in the sports industry?
It was a combination of my passion for sports and entertainment and my interest in business. The idea of working in an industry that I enjoy being around was very appealing.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
We are in the industry of creating memories and emotions. Being around clients and fans during a memorable sports event or concert and hearing them say it was a magical evening is very rewarding.
What does your typical day involve?
It’s a combination of strategic planning, management, marketing and sales.

Meeting the various requirements and needs of all our business partners.

Meeting the various requirements and needs of all our business partners and leading a team.
What tips would you give to students wanting to break into the sports industry?
Showcase a passion for the business of sport and be willing to start as an intern.
What are the most common mistakes you've seen candidates making?
Not being sure what aspect of the industry they want to be involved in. It’s too broad to just say, “I want to be in the sports industry”. The candidate needs to have a general idea of whether they see a career in sales, marketing, operations, etc....
How has elite sport changed since you first entered the industry?
Each year it becomes more and more commercially driven and more globalised.
